The Rules of Participation for the Level Roundtable

1) Speakers will cover the technical aspects as needed for their presentation, being mindful about using acronyms or industry slang terms.

2) Speakers will not make their presentation to be an advertisement for your company, will keep their information generic, and will minimize the use of logos and brand names.

3) Each of the four speakers will have 10 minutes to give a general overview of their technology. This time limit will be strictly enforced. NOTE: Audience participation and interaction will be postponed until the Q&A session following the speaker presentations.

4) Speaker presentation will provide a basic overview of the technology and how it is best applied. The speaker presentation for each technology topic will cover the following:

The basic physics about what makes the technology work (i.e. beam deflection measurement, time of flight for a signal, fluid head, making the measured material part of a circuit, etc.)

What the technology actually measures; weight, fluid head, physical height, etc. Is it a volumetric, mass or weight measurement? How do you get the other quantity from your measurement (e.g. volume from weight)?

What are good applications for the technology?

What applications should it not be used for?

What physical aspects of the application need to be evaluated carefully to make sure it works?

Following the speaker presentations, the remainder of the program will be dedicated to a question and answer session where the audience can ask questions of any or all vendors. Minimum time allotment for this will be at least 20 minutes. This part will also be moderated for continuity and avoiding potential monopolization of the discussion by one technology.
