Harry Sim

CEO, Cypress Envirosystems

Time to dust off the summer cobwebs and Get Your Green On as we welcome Harry Sim, CEO of Cypress Envirosystems for our September meeting! Cypress Envirosystems was created with the goal helping older plants and buildings save energy and improve productivity. This month’s presentation will show, through real life case studies and data, just how much energy is being lost by air and steam line leaks as well as how to recover those losses. The presentation will include cases from Pharma, Biopharma, Food & Beverage, Refining and Chemical Processing industries. Named CEO in 2006, Harry joined Cypress from Honeywell, where he was Global Vice-President of Marketing for their Industrial Process Control business. While at Honeywell, he also held executive positions in General Management, Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Internet Startup founder. Prior to Honeywell, he worked for NASA Mission Control in Houston, where he was the Payload Director for Shuttle Flight STS-40 in 1991.  Harry is a member of the USGBC Northern California Chapter, regularly presents for the USGBC. Join us and explore how you might improve your company’s energy savings at this dynamic meeting!

NEWSFLASH!!! - St. Louis Section Earns it's Third Consecutive Section Performance Award!

2010 SPA Recipient Congratulations Letter

The St. Louis Section was just notified that it has been awarded the 2010 Section Performance Award for most points garnered by Gold, LARGE Sections. This award is THE Top Honor given out to Sections by ISA annually.  This year's recognition marks the third successive Top Honor we have received as a Section. The Section Performance Award recognizes Superlative Achievement in Section Management and Member Services. It also marks our first as a LARGE Section!

This is a historic time in the history of our Section. These types of awards are why our Section and our City have been chosen to host the events that are coming to St. Louis next Spring and potentially beyond. We thank you for supporting your Award-Winning local Section. Without your regular participation and volunteer support, we would not be getting recognized.

We DO need and desire your active participation to help keep us at the apex year in and year out. Be proud of your Section...and your membership in it by participating actively. Your local Section is not the Norm, it IS the Exceptional!

Our heartiest congratulations are extended to everyone that has volunteered to serve our membership and worked so hard to make these awards possible the last three years. Well done! Keep up the good work and let's keep the attention of the Society at large focused squarely upon our Section and our City!

We recognize that investing in your professional development comes at a cost and requires a balancing act with personal, educational and professional schedules. For those, who, for whatever reason have not been able to take an active participatory role in the life of the Section up to this point; we ask that you consider taking some time out of your schedules to invest in yourself by checking out some meetings, expanding your personal and professional networks, and experiencing the superlative member services that the Society is recognizing the St. Louis Section for. While our Section exists and functions to benefit You and Your Professional Development, who knows if Your active participation might just be part of the catalyst for a Four-peat next year!
